  • Set up water use bills to be sent to your tenant
  • Get notified when your tenant receives a bill
  • Updating how your tenant receives their bill

We can send the water use bills directly to your tenant, so you don’t need to worry about billing them for their water use charges. Here’s how to arrange tenant billing.

Set up tenant billing

  1. Head to update your details and select ‘Home owner’
  2. Select the option ‘Add or remove tenant for water use bill’
  3. Fill in your details and the tenant’s details

If you’ve logged into your online account, you can set up tenant billing under ‘Update property details’.

We'll now send water use bills to your tenant. We can also send you an email with the PDF copy of the tenant bill. To set this up, log into your online account, go to ‘Manage bill delivery’, and then select ‘Third-party notifications.’

Even though the tenant receives the water use bill, you’re still responsible for the charges. We'll send you reminders or overdue notices if your tenant doesn’t pay their bill. Please speak to your tenant or managing agent to resolve any overdue charges. You won’t receive reminders from us if the overdue amount is less than $50.00, but the outstanding amount will appear in your next bill – not the tenant's.

We have information to help your tenant understand how billing works, please visit tenant billing.

Get your tenant to set up an online account

When your tenant receives the water use bill, they can set up an online account with the ERN provided on their bill. This allows them to update their details, bill delivery method, and payment preferences and request things like extending a bill due date – which means less work for you!

Change how your tenant receives their bill

This is something your tenant can do in their online account. Once your tenant has registered, they can access their bill delivery method to choose how they receive their bills.
