$400 rebate available to upgrade old toilets
Regional Water Corporation customers are being encouraged to take advantage of a new offer to upgrade their single-flush toilets to water efficient dual flush systems which can use 75 per cent less water.
One or two single flush toilets can be replaced per residential customer for a rebate of $400 each toilet.
Water Corporation Demand Delivery Manager, Damien Postma said taking advantage of the limited-time offer not only saves precious water but money off your water bills too.
“An old, single flush toilet can use as much as 12 litres with every flush of the button compared to only three to five litres in a WELS 4 star rated dual flush system,” Mr Postma said.
“When you add that up throughout the day, especially for a large family, that’s a significant amount of water being used unnecessarily.”
From the early 1980s, all new homes built in WA were required to install dual flush toilets.
“Most older homes have been renovated and dual flush toilets installed but there are still plenty of single flush toilets that we’d like to see replaced”, Mr Postma said.
“We understand the value of water in our communities, and this rebate is a great way to encourage waterwise practices while putting money back in our customers’ pockets.
“I encourage regional residential customers to take advantage of this great offer now before it ends on 31 May. Let’s flush out the last of the single flush toilets in regional WA”.
To be eligible, customers must be connected to Water Corporation’s scheme water.
To claim the rebate, customers will need to upload before and after photos of the old and new toilets installed, a copy of the invoice/s for a WELS 4 or 5 star toilet/s and replacement of a single flush toilet by a licensed plumber.
The rebate is available until 31 May 2025, unless rebate allocations are exhausted before the closing date. Conditions apply. For more information, see www.watercorporation.com.au/toiletrebate
