Broome residents living in suburbs north of the airport will experience an overnight water outage from 8.30pm on Tuesday 20 March, while Water Corporation carries out an essential upgrade.

Water Corporation North West Regional Manager, Rino Trolio, said the work involved the removal of old, disused valves with new sections of pipe in the water supply scheme.

“Thank you in advance to the Broome community for its cooperation and understanding during the planned upgrade,” Mr Trolio said.

“The essential work we’re undertaking will improve the reliability of the water supply to customers in Cable Beach and Roebuck Estate.

Mr Trolio said the work had been planned to take place overnight, between 8.30pm Tuesday 20 March to 6am Wednesday 21 March, to reduce the inconvenience to businesses and residents.

“All suburbs north of the airport will be affected by the temporary interruption to water supply, this includes; Roebuck Estate, Cable Beach, Sunset Rise, Sunset Park, Djaigween, Broome North Estate, Blue Haze, Lullfitz Drive and Sands Street,” Mr Trolio said.

Residents will need to manage their own water needs during the supply interruption. Those with special water requirements are encouraged to contact the Water Corporation on 13 13 75 as soon as possible.
