Water use

Average daily water use over the last week was 8832 million litres, which was above the forecast of 866 million litres.  Financial year to date water use is 228 billion litres, which is 9 billion litres below the 237 billion litres we had forecasted.

Dam levels

Over the last seven days, Perth’s dam storage levels have slightly fallen from 139.4 billion litres to 138.9 billion litres of usable storage. Perth’s dams store water from three different sources… groundwater and desalinated seawater transferred from treatment plants as well as streamflow (produced by rainfall).

Sprinkler roster compliance

The two-day-per week sprinkler roster now applies, and our inspectors issued 122 warnings and 79 fines last week.  Since 1 January 2018 we have taken a total of 3,264 actions (warnings + fines) compared with 3,624 actions for the same period in 2017.

Rainfall

While Perth received some rainfall today, it is yet to make its way from the rain gauge to the official reports made at 9am each morning! The April average is 44.2mm.
So far in 2018 we have received 109.2mm of rainfall, which is above the average of 85.9mm.
