Water use

Average daily water use over the last week was 828 million litres, which was below the forecast of 834 million litres.  Financial year to date water use is 234 billion litres, which is 9 billion litres below the 243 billion litres we had forecasted.

Dam levels

Over the last seven days, Perth’s dam storage levels have slightly fallen from 139 billion litres to 137 billion litres of usable storage. Perth’s dams store water from three different sources… groundwater and desalinated seawater transferred from treatment plants as well as streamflow (produced by rainfall).

Sprinkler roster compliance

The two-day-per week sprinkler roster now applies, and our inspectors issued 59 warnings and 66 fines last week.  Since 1 January 2018 we have taken a total of 3061 actions (warnings + fines) compared with 3255 actions for the same period in 2017.

Rainfall

So far this month Perth has received 6.2mm of rainfall – the April average is 44.2mm.   Since 1 January 2018 we have received 115.4mm of rainfall, which is above the cumulative average of 85.9mm.

General water news

The Bureau of Meteorology has forecast 0 to 3 mm of rain on Saturday and 5 to 15mm of rain on Sunday with a possible thunderstorm most likely in the morning.
