Residents in Exmouth and Onslow are asked to avoid non-essential water use as emergency service crews work to repair damaged infrastructure following Tropical Cyclone Narelle.

In Exmouth, residents will experience low water pressure with potential for supply interruptions overnight owing to a power outage affecting the town’s two borefields.

In Onslow, repairs are progressing on damaged water mains impacting supply to a large water storage tank.

Conditions are challenging, however, crews are working closely with emergency services to effect repairs as quickly and safely as possible.

Residents can support the work of crews by:

  • Switching off garden reticulation
  • Avoid hosing down pavement and driveways
  • Keeping showers to 4 minutes and skip baths or limiting to a small volume if essential
  • Avoid using water-using appliances including washing machines
  • Using a plug in the sink to capture any rinse water for re-use.

Further updates will be provided as work progresses.
