How to turn off your water main

Follow the steps below if you can't shut off your water:

Step 1

If you are unable to turn the tap to the close position (clockwise) try turning it anticlockwise first to break the seal then back clockwise to the close position.

Step 2

If the tap still won’t close and if it’s an emergency, please call us on 13 13 75 and we will endeavour to get someone to your property within 2 hours. TTY users please phone 13 36 77 (National Relay Service) and ask for 13 13 75.
