Water Corporation customers in Newman will experience a water outage overnight from 11.00pm Saturday, 12 November to 6.00am Sunday, 13 November while essential work takes place.

Water Corporation North West Regional Manager Rino Trolio said Newman’s water supply would be temporarily interrupted to allow work to be carried out.

“The water will be temporarily turned off while we undertake improvements to the scheme that will limit the customer impact of future water outages and improve the reliability of the water supply,” Mr Trolio said.

Once water supply resumes at 6am, customers may experience temporary reduced pressure and discoloured water for a short period.

“Temporary discoloured water may occur when we undertake this type of work because natural sediment within pipes is stirred up and causes discolouration. This sediment is harmless and the water is safe for use.”

Mr Trolio said the work would take place overnight to limit the impact to customers.

"I thank our customers in advance for their cooperation and understanding during these essential water supply works, and apologise for any inconvenience they may cause," Mr Trolio said.
