If you have a concession card, you may be eligible to receive a discount on your water bill.

You can apply for a concession rebate using our online form. Once approved, we will notify your local council and they will apply the concession to your council rates.

Who can apply?

To be eligible for a concession rebate, the following conditions apply:

  • You must be a cardholder from the list below (select your card for details)
  • You can only receive a concession rebate on your primary place of residence
  • You must own or rent the property (includes life tenants, retirement village, park home, or caravan park)
    - If you are a tenant, you must hold a Pensioner or State Concession card to be eligible for a rebate on water use charges and you must not live with the owner
  • Your concession rebate is based on your percentage of ownership of the property
    - Married or de-facto couples who co-own a property: full entitlements will apply if at least one partner is eligible
    - Co-owned by other arrangements: entitlements will match your percentage of ownership (verified by Landgate)

If you hold a Veteran Card (formerly known as a DVA card), please note these aren’t eligible for a concession rebate. However, Veteran Gold Card holders may be eligible for a State Concession Card.

To apply, contact the Department of Communities by emailing StateConcession@Communities.wa.gov.au or call 1800 176 888.
