Planned water outage in Broome
Residents in Djugun, Bilingurr and the Blue Haze Industrial Estate are advised of an upcoming overnight water outage, as essential work is carried out to relocate a major water main.
Work will enable the planned extension of Tanami Drive and will ensure Water Corporation can safely maintain the main with minimal disruptions to road users.
From 8pm on Monday 7 July, customers will experience a reduction in water pressure, followed by a temporary water supply outage for up to eight hours.
Water is expected to be restored by 6am the following day, Tuesday 8 July.
Water Corporation Acting Regional Manager Andrew Wyber apologised for any inconvenience and encouraged residents to take a few simple steps to prepare.
“We realise any sort of interruption to essential services is impactful and we apologise for this disruption to your service,” Mr Wyber said.
“Relocating this water main now will ensure future maintenance and repairs can be completed safely and with minimal disruptions to road users.
“Residents in Djugun, Bilingurr and the Blue Haze Industrial Estate should refrigerate a couple of litres of drinking water in sealed containers. It’s also a good idea to have buckets of water on hand to refill toilet cisterns, and take showers before 8pm Monday.
“Washing machines and dishwashers should not be used after 8pm on Monday to avoid damage to the appliances.”
Water Corporation apologises for any inconvenience while the work is completed, and thanks customers for their patience and understanding.
Customers with special water requirements should contact Water Corporation on 13 13 75.
