Halls Creek residents will experience a water outage from 5.30pm on Tuesday, 11 October to 5.30am Wednesday, 12 October while Water Corporation carries out essential work.

Water Corporation North West Regional Manager, Rino Trolio, said the work was planned to occur mainly overnight to reduce inconvenience to customers.

“Halls Creek will be affected by this temporary interruption, which will allow us to carry out essential maintenance and upgrades to the town’s water supply scheme, including the main water supply tank,” Mr Trolio said.

We encourage people in Halls Creek to prepare for the interruption by filling kettles and drinking bottles, showering before water supplies are interrupted and filling containers or buckets to flush toilets.”

Once water supply resumes, some properties may experience discoloured water for a short period. Temporary discoloured water may occur when Water Corporation undertakes this type of work as small amounts of natural sediment that settles within pipes over time is stirred up and causes discolouration. The water is still safe for use. Running the garden tap closest to your water meter for two minutes should clear the discolouration.

Customers with special water requirements should call Water Corporation on 13 13 75 prior to the interruption to make alternative arrangements.

"I thank our customers in Halls Creek in advance for their cooperation and understanding during these essential water supply works," Mr Trolio said.
