Rokeby Road in Subiaco is set to receive a face-lift – both above and below ground – with Water Corporation starting work to renew a water main along the road.

Work along Rokeby Road will begin on Monday, 18 July 2016 and will improve the security and reliability of Subiaco’s water supply.

Water Corporation Perth Regional Manager, Garth Walter, said work would be carried out in two stages to ensure the busiest section of Rokeby Road was completed as quickly as possible.

“The first stage of work will be between Roberts Road and Bagot Road, with sections of Rokeby Road’s northbound lane closed for six to eight weeks so work can be completed safely,” Mr Walter said.

“Three crews will be carrying out the work to expedite the renewal and minimise disruption to the community.

“Crews will also install electricity and gas conduits on behalf of City of Subiaco and ATCO Gas Australia. We have worked collaboratively with the City and ATCO to align our work to minimise disruption.

“Thank you to the community and road users for their patience while we carry out this essential work.”

The second and final stage of work will be undertaken along Rokeby Road, to the Thomas Street intersection. The City of Subiaco will then progress its Rokeby Road upgrade to improve the road’s amenity, safety and overall aesthetics from Roberts Road to Bagot Road.
